What we do…and what we can do for you.
We match you with the best teacher for your schedule and specific goals. Our philosophy is that you should have the chance to meet your teacher and take a lesson before making a monthly payment. This way, you have seen the facilities, experienced a lesson, and discussed goals and policies before signing up. The first lesson is a one-time fee paid upon arrival.
Lessons are 30 minutes once per week. For students learning advanced guitar and music theory, or those preparing for college auditions, 60-minute lessons may be scheduled.
Lessons are held in large, comfortable lesson rooms. Wi-Fi, two amplifiers with built-in effects and drum machines, iPod docks, CD players, books and sheet music, and other lesson resources are used in each room. We also have a band room in the rear of the facility with a complete rock band setup (PA system, drumset, amps, etc).
Many of our students come to us from Aston, Springfield, Swarthmore, Ridley, Glen Mills, Garnet Valley, and throughout Delaware County. We have also had students come to us from Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Wilmington, and even some students reach us from cities such as New York and Atlanta via Skype for guitar lessons.
Each teacher at Richards Guitar Studio has a payment and cancellation policy, charging an average of $90-100 per month (flat rate – we do not charge extra for months containing 5 lessons). Our teachers are professional contractors who teach music for a living and have monthly business expenses, so we ask that you follow policy guidelines and payment plans as faithfully as possible.
Below is a sample of Nate Richards’ policy. The basic guidelines will be explained and discussed at your first lesson.
